Trauma Education Workshop: “Health at Every Size”
Welcome to Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Nederland’s Trauma Education Workshop!
Our Trauma Education Workshops are held once a month and aims to provide you with educational tools that may help you in your recovery from traumatic experiences. We create a shared virtual space for everyone who may have experienced trauma or would like to learn more about the different effects trauma has on our minds and body and includes practices that can improve your inner strength
In the past, we’ve explored topics such as trauma and your brain, trauma and memory, trauma and self-care and trauma and your gut. The next Trauma Education Workshop will take place on Sunday 7 August from 16.00 – 17.00 Central European Summer Time (CEST).
What is Trauma Education?
During the one-hour virtual workshop you are welcome to engage in a short grounding practice such as Trauma-Sensitive Yoga or reflective exercise, from there we will introduce you to the topic of the month and thereafter we will have time for questions and sharing.
This month’s speaker and co-host are:
Speaker – Nicole Renne
Co-Host – Cleo Westermann
Topic – “Health at Every Size”
Explore what your past might do with your body image in the present.
Trauma can give you a disturbed relationship with your body. What might have started as a survival technique might not be useful to you and your body today. During this workshop we will explore what food in relationship to you, your trauma and your self-image might be, and the connection between past traumatic events and your present relationship with your body image.
What will you learn:
- You will get a better understanding of your body image
- Exploring options to recognise your survival behaviour
- Learn how to practice a better self-image in this present moment
What do you need:
Pen and paper.
Once you have confirmed your booking, you will receive the zoom link to attend the Trauma Education Workshop, which will be sent to you closer to the time by Eva Reitsma.
The group will be facilitated in English; however, the co-host will be translating to Dutch in the chat box where needed.
