SUMMARY:Community Group May '22
DESCRIPTION:Community Group “Connecting With Your Inner Child”\nWelcome to Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Nederland’s Community Group! \nWe welcome you to an online space where we can come together\, learn about different topics that have to do with the effects of trauma\, and\, if you feel comfortable\, share a little bit about your own experience with the topic. In the past\, we’ve explored topics such as; trauma and your brain\, trauma and memory\, trauma and self-care\, and trauma and your gut. The topic for the next Community Group will be “Connecting With Your Inner Child and will take place on Sunday the 8th of May from 16.00 – 17.00  Central European Summer Time (CEST) \nWhat is a Community Group?\nDuring the one-hour LIVE-ONLINE Community Group\, we will engage in a short Trauma-Sensitive Yoga practice\, introduce a topic to you (introduced by a speaker)\, and open the group for a discussion\, if this is useful to you. You are by no means obligated to share. Sometimes\, depending on the topic\, there will be a reflective exercise instead of a short Trauma-Sensitive Yoga practice. \nWe organize a Community Group once a month\, to come together and to let you know that you are not alone on this journey. During the online lessons\, there isn’t much time to discuss or perhaps learn about trauma and the body. This is what we prioritize during Community Group. It isn’t a group therapy session\, simply a place to come together and potentially learn. \nEvery Community Group we have a different speaker introducing a different topic\, and every Community Group we will have a different Co-Host\, this month: \nSpeaker – Eva Reitsma \nCo-Host – Esther van der Sande \n“Connecting With Your Inner Child”\nSurviving trauma can mean that you’ve had to grow up really fast in order to survive. Once the trauma isn’t actively happening any more\, although your body might still feel like the trauma is happening right now\, it can be healing to connect with your inner child. During this Community Group\, we will explore through multiple reflective exercises\, a connection with your inner child. \nThis Community Group session will help you if:  \nYou’re wanting to explore a connection with your inner child and notice that your adult responses are rooted in your childhood self. \nWhat will you learn: \n\nYou will learn to reflect on yourself as a child\nExploring if some of your adult responses are rooted into your childhood self\nWhat does your inner child need\, learning to hear your inner child by using reflective exercises\nLearning how to spend time with your inner child and how to show your inner child that your adult self can take care of your inner child\n\nWhat do you need: \nPen and paper\, this can be a diary or simply a piece of paper and a pen. \nPractical information:\nIf you do not attend the online lessons you are also welcome to join the Community Group and learn about trauma and the body. \nAfter booking your place here on the website\, you will receive the zoom link to attend the Community Group send to you by Eva Reitsma. \nThe group will be facilitated in English\, however\, the co-host will be translating in the chatbox where needed. The zoom link will be sent to those attending closer to the time.  \nUpcoming Topics:\nThursday the 2nd of June at 19.00 – Attachment and Trauma (speaker: Esther van der Sande in English) \nSunday the 10th of July at 16.00 – Neurographic Art (speaker: Cleo Westermann in Dutch) \nSunday the 7th of August at 16.00 – Health at Every Size (speaker: Nicole Renne in English) \nSunday the 11th of September at 16.00 – Setting Boundaries/Grenzen Stellen (speaker: Pyrrha Singerling in Dutch) \nSunday the 9th of October at 16.00 – Dissociation and Trauma (speaker: Esther van der Sande in English) \nSunday the 6th of November at 16.00 – Trauma and Codependency (speaker: Cleo Westermann in Dutch) \nThursday the 8th of December at 19.00 – Trauma and Anxiety (speaker: Eva Reitsma in English)

SUMMARY:Community Group April '22 - English Spoken
DESCRIPTION:Community Group “Mind Your Gut Part 2”\nWelcome to Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Nederland’s Community Group! \nWe wanted to create an online space where we can come together\, learn about different topics that have to do with the effects of trauma\, and if you feel comfortable to share a little bit about your own experience with the topic. In the past\, we’ve explored topics such as; trauma and your brain\, trauma and memory\, trauma and self-care\, and trauma and your gut. The latter will be the topic that we will explore during the next Community Group on Sunday the 10th of April from 16.00 – 17.00  Central European Summer Time (CEST) \nWhat is a Community Group?\nDuring the one-hour LIVE-ONLINE Community Group\, we will engage in a short Trauma-Sensitive Yoga practice\, introduce a topic to you (introduced by a speaker)\, and open the group for a discussion\, if this is useful to you. You are by no means obligated to share. \nEvery Community Group we have a different speaker introducing a different topic\, and every Community Group we will have a different Co-Host\, this month: \nSpeaker – Nicole Renne \nCo-Host – Esther van der Sande \nIf you’ve missed the first one\, don’t worry\, Nicole will give a short recap on the previous Community Group. She will then explore microbiota further with us\, in particular the influence on our mental and physical health. Nicole will also introduce ways to support your body and your gut. \nIf you do not attend the online lessons you are also welcome to join the Community Group and learn about trauma and the body. \nThe group will be facilitated in English\, however\, the co-host will be translating in the chatbox where needed. The zoom link will be sent to those attending closer to the time.

This technique was developed by David Emerson at the Justice of Resource Institute (JRI) in Boston\, MA. \nSensitive Techniques\nTCTSY participants are invited to notice and feel sensations within their bodies throughout the practice. Over time participants begin to experience the effects of taking positive action and making choices. \nIf you are interested in joining the TCTSY online classes for the first time\, you are welcome to get in touch with Eva (eva@traumasensitiveyoganederland.com). SUMMARY:Trauma-Sensitive Yoga at Delight A'dam
DESCRIPTION:Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TSY) Classes – Women only\nWITH Esther\, Katia\, Cleo & Samantha\nEvidence-Based Practice\, in group settings\, meeting every Wednesday from 11.30 – 12.45 in Amsterdam. \n  Go to schedule \n\nTrauma-Sensitive Yoga provides a safe place where people can begin to connect with their bodies\, and their breath\, in relation to the trauma.  Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is an effective adjunctive\, and complementary treatment for those suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)\, complex or developmental trauma. This technique was developed by David Emerson at the Justice of Resource Institute (JRI) in Boston\, MA. \nSensitive Techniques\nTCTSY participants are invited to notice and feel sensations within their body throughout the practice.  Participants are then encouraged to make choices about what they do and how they move with their body based on what they sense.  This supports participants to investigate what choice feels supportive for them\, taking cues from their own individual experience.  There are no physical/hands-on assists provided. \nBody-centred Exploration\nTCTSY applies choice and body-centred self-awareness to support a recovery process\, a gentle intervention that initiates healing through people regaining a relationship with the present moment and their body.  The language used throughout a yoga session is invitational and encourages curiosity to explore what one might feel in different parts of their body based on the form they are choosing to take. Over time participants begin to experience the effects of taking positive action and making choices. \nTCTSY is designed specifically for participants already in therapy or be in close contact with your doctor (GP)\, or health care professional. The classes are offered every Wednesday\, but due to the sensitive nature of the group\, we ask for a 6-week long commitment. At the beginning of each 6-week course\, new participants can join the group. \nExtra important information\nNo previous yoga experience is necessary. Please note that this is a women-only group. For men who are interested\, please contact Esther via e-mail below. This yoga class is not meant for yoga teachers or mental health workers who would like to become trauma-informed or learn about trauma-sensitive yoga as a form of professional development. SUMMARY:TCTSY for Women
DESCRIPTION:Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Monthly ONLINE Yoga Classes – November 2020\nEvery Tuesday and Thursday from 1 pm – 2 pm & Wednesday evening from 7.30 – 8.30 pm Women only. These classes will be facilitated by a qualified TCTSY-Facilitators \nA monthly fee of € 45 up to 12 classes per month. When we have received your payment you will receive a password to enter the Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Live Sessions online.   \nTrauma-Sensitive Yoga provides a safe place where people can begin to connect with their bodies\, and their breath\, in relation to the trauma. \nIf you are interested in joining the TCTSY online classes for the first time\, if possible\, we invite you to send us an email and to fill in the short questionnaire by TCTSY Online Classes so that we can briefly connect and get to know you. This might allow you to ask questions about TCTSY and the online practice and offer an opportunity to share some of your expectations\, wishes or needs for the practice. \nExtra important information\nNo previous yoga experience is necessary. Please note that this is a women-only group. We also have gender-neutral online classes every Monday from 7.30 pm till 8.30 pm. You can also call us directly. \nThis yoga class is not meant for yoga teachers or mental health workers who would like to become trauma-informed or learn about trauma-sensitive yoga as a form of professional development. If you are a professional and are interested in this form of yoga please click here for more information about professional training with Trauma Sensitive Yoga Nederland. For questions or more information about these classes\, you can contact Esther directly via email. \nTo ensure trauma-sensitive yoga is accessible and inclusive for all survivors of complex and developmental trauma\, we offer a selected number of places for participants to join our online TCTSY classes free of charge. These places are offered on an individual needs-basis for those who may be unable to pay the monthly fees or registration and are part of our diversity\, equity\, and inclusion initiative. \nIf this is something you are interested in applying for\, you are welcome to contact us via email at info@traumasensitiveyoganederland.com to discuss your situation and together we can find a solution to continue sharing TCTSY together.
